Juliet is Two

Juliet turned two last week and she is growing quickly. At her doctor's checkup, she charted in the 95th percentile for height! She is very sweet tempered (except, of course, when she is throwing a tantrum) and she probably gets away with a lot just by being so cute. She loves dressing up, playing with dolls, singing and dancing, and anything to do with Dora.
Happy birthday Jules!

Birthday Celebrations

This month has been full of birthday surprises for the girls! Lily turned four last week and Juliet will turn two next week. With grandparents visiting and a children's party at our house, we have had multiple celebrations. (There has been lots of cake and ice cream.) Last weekend we had a dozen little girls over for Lily's much-anticipated birthday party. Lily wanted a Hello Kitty theme and it was all Hello Kitty decorations, crafts, and games. Our little ones do love being birthday girls!

January Pictures

Lily has been bringing lots of germs home from school and everyone in the family has been sick over and over this winter. We are all well for the time being, and we have a fun week planned. We're taking the girls to Disney on Ice this weekend, and next week I'm volunteering in Lily's class for the Valentine's Day party. She's very excited and has been making Valentines, including one for Mickey Mouse that we are to mail to Disney World. She is secretly making a special one for Jules, too, while her little sister naps.

When Lily was having a time out, Juliet put her chair next to sister and buckled up in solidarity.
Our kids definitely got the snuggle gene.

Four Christmases

We visited Fort Wayne the week before Christmas this year and celebrated with all of the grandparents and cousins. It was great to see everyone for the holiday and the girls loved having three Christmases there. After a busy week, we drove home to have Christmas morning at our house. It was a lot of excitement for the girls and nice to be surrounded by family!

Letters to Santa

Lily and Juliet met Santa yesterday! Our mall has a really cute North Pole setup with little elf houses, a snow machine making snow fall on us as we waited, and a naughty or nice meter to gauge if the kids were good this year. Juliet ran to Santa when it was our turn but then she didn't want to sit on his lap once she got up there. Lily loved it though and whispered her Christmas wish in his ear.

We're nearly ready for the holidays and the girls have had fun decorating and preparing. Lily wrote a letter to Santa and drew a picture for him (of her birthday party, the happiest thing she could think of). Then we mailed it at the Santa mailbox in Macy's to be sent to the North Pole. Lily keeps asking if it's Christmas yet, so we're doing an advent calendar, counting down the days!
