Letters to Santa

Lily and Juliet met Santa yesterday! Our mall has a really cute North Pole setup with little elf houses, a snow machine making snow fall on us as we waited, and a naughty or nice meter to gauge if the kids were good this year. Juliet ran to Santa when it was our turn but then she didn't want to sit on his lap once she got up there. Lily loved it though and whispered her Christmas wish in his ear.

We're nearly ready for the holidays and the girls have had fun decorating and preparing. Lily wrote a letter to Santa and drew a picture for him (of her birthday party, the happiest thing she could think of). Then we mailed it at the Santa mailbox in Macy's to be sent to the North Pole. Lily keeps asking if it's Christmas yet, so we're doing an advent calendar, counting down the days!

We Are Thankful

We are so thankful for our family and for our two beautiful little girls, who are growing into such sweet little friends! Juliet it 20 months old today and she picks things up very quickly by watching her sister. She will climb to the top of a jungle gym and go down the slide by herself! Both girls like to help mama cook, paint with daddy, and have "sleeping parties". What, don't your kids pretend to sleep for fun?

Fall Leaves

We have been loving the mild fall weather here and the girls have fun playing in the leaves. Lily insisted on having a Ravens shirt like all the kids at school, so it looks like we are officially Ravens fans now.

Happy Halloween

We had a good Halloween yesterday! Lily got to dress up for preschool and her class had a party and special treats. She dressed as a pirate and Juliet was little red riding hood. We all went trick or treating together and Jules was just as excited as Lily was two years ago, shrieking and asking for more, more, more. We were out for an hour and then came home and the girls helped hand out candy. They were so wound up it took a long time to get them to sleep!

Chapel Hills Farm

We spent the last two Saturdays at Chapel Hills Farm, last week with Nana and today with kids from Lily's preschool class. There were lots of fun things to do there. Our favorites were seeing the elaborate scarecrow scenes on the hay ride and visiting the ponies and horses. Lily even got to go on her first pony ride. The girls picked out their pumpkins as well...but we did not take home the giant one!

Imagination

Lily just woke up from a nap and told me that she was trying to get into her imagination but it was hard because she kept bumping into it. Could I help her and use scissors to cut it open? (It didn't work.) She wanted to touch it but said it felt like it was made out of clouds.

Fall Festival

We have been enjoying the cooler weather and recently went to a fall festival at Weber's Cider Mill Farm. We got to see the animals, go on a hay ride, play games, and go through a maze. We also got to taste the apples grown there!
