Lily's Second Birthday

Lily turned two yesterday and we celebrated with a small party. All of the decorations were Hello Kitty, one of Lily's favorites, and Grandma Amy made a fabulous kitty cake with fruit. Lily was excited to wake up from nap to see all of the balloons and decorations and have all of her grandparents there. She loved being the center of attention and having everyone sing to her.

The play kitchen she got was a big hit - she immediately put on her apron and started cooking and has since discovered the washing machine, where she cleans her doll's clothes. She says it's "fun fun" and wants to play with it all the time. It was a good day and we were happy she got to celebrate her birthday before her sister arrived!

Hey! You! You there!

Odds are, you haven't voted. There are only four votes cast for Juliet's middle name... and I've voted twice. If by not voting you mean to tell us "but I can't possibly vote for any of those names" then just continue not voting. If, through continued not voting, no votes are cast, I will add a new category called "not possibly any of those names" and we can clear up the misunderstanding.

New Nursery

The new nursery is all ready! We painted the brown room purple and were able to use all of the furniture and bedding from Lily's old room. We're really happy with how it turned out. Thanks to our parents for all of their help!

Lily's Big Girl Bed

We gave Lily's room a makeover and she's been sleeping in a twin bed for several weeks now. She was very excited when we put her bed together - she couldn't stop jumping on it, snuggling on the pillow and saying "nap!" She likes to have all of her stuffed animals around her and loves it when Penelope joins her. The little craft table and reading corner make it a great place to play, too.
.
We're really proud of how well Lily has done in her big girl bed. She still goes to bed easily and sleeps through the night. We did put a child gate at the door to prevent her from getting up and wandering around in the morning or at naptime. She didn't nap at first but now she does sometimes (for a short while), so we're hoping this will become the trend.

New Year's Resolutions

Don't play so hard...

It's never worth it the next morning.

Help out around the house more.
